Science in Sport Beta Fuel has been developed to deliver the maximum amount of carbohydrate in a 2:1 ratio of Maltodextrin to Fructose while limiting gastrointestinal distress.

The product, mixed to concentration, is 80 grams carbohydrate (2:1 maltodextrin:fructose), 20 mmol/L sodium and 500 ml of fluid per serving.

Features:

  • 2:1 ratio maltodextrin:fructose
  • 80g total carbohydrate
  • Isotonic
  • pH neutral
  • Natural flavours and sweetener
  • Added sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium

Benefits:

A limiting factor in the use of exogenous carbohydrates during exercise is the transport of nutrients through the intestinal wall. Once the sodium-dependent transporter, used to transport maltodextrin, is saturated at 60 gh, additional carbohydrates can be absorbed through another transporter, GLUT5, used to transport fructose.

Fuel requirements for long-duration events (more than 2.5 hours) are 60-90g of carbohydrates per hour. The ability to provide such high levels of carbohydrates with minimal risk of GI problems is crucial for performance. Beta Fuel can be used to meet these fuel demands in an isotonic solution.

Recommended use

Mix one serving (84g) of Beta Fuel with 500ml of liquid and drink little and often during exercise to meet dietary requirements.

"Informed-Sport" registered

FAQs:

What is Science In Sport Beta Fuel?

Beta Fuel is a powerful sports drink. Developed to deliver the maximum amount of carbohydrates in a 2:1 ratio of maltodextrin to fructose, while limiting gastrointestinal upset.

Why 2:1 now for Science In Sport?

2:1 sports drinks are not new but historically they are delivered in hypertonic solutions, which means a high risk of stomach disorders, which is why SIS had avoided it as a brand. Now, following a development cycle together with The Sky Team, winners of Giro DiroItalia in 2018, Beta Fuel is an innovative technology that offers the optimal dose of carbohydrates while maintaining an isotonic solution.

Is Beta Fuel isotonic?

Yes, when mixed in concentration (an 84g sachet in 500 ml of water) Beta Fuel is Isotonic.

How should I mix Beta Fuel?

Mix one serving (84g) of Beta Fuel with 500ml of liquid. With no complicated prompts, this drink isn't limited by the need to use a specific type of water like some niche brands – just mix and go.

What are the benefits of Beta Fuel?

Fuel requirements for long-duration events (more than 2.5 hours) are 60-90g of carbohydrates per hour. The ability to manage such high levels of carbohydrates with minimal risk of gastrointestinal problems is crucial for performance. Beta Fuel can be used to meet these fuel demands in an isotonic solution.

How does Beta Fuel fit into my overall fueling plan?

During long-duration events of more than 2.5 hours, it is recommended to load with 60-90 grams of carbohydrates per hour, from the first hour. When fueling up on a flat, less technical ride, drink 250 ml of Beta Fuel per hour and use additional products from the GO Energy range to fuel 60-90 grams of carbohydrates per hour. When the road profile is challenging, meaning long climbs or technical descents, drink 125ml of Beta Fuel every 15 minutes to fuel up per hour.

What is the nutritional information per serving?

Beta Fuel contains 80 grams of carbohydrates, 20 mmol / L of sodium and 500ml of liquid per serving.

Are these "natural"?

Yes, Beta Fuel uses natural flavours and is free of colours and preservatives.

Is Beta Fuel Tested for banned substances?

Yes, Beta Fuel is tested under the "Informed Sport" programme.
