Polygon bikes is becoming a prominent player in the New Zealand market, we take a dive behind the scenes at what makes them so successful, and look over the model range to help you decide what’s best for you.

Utilising the latest technology, Polygon are one of the world leaders in bicycle manufacturing.

Amongst the noise of the worlds largest brands singing about their latest tech, widget or colourway, there are brands with their heads down, designing great value bikes and manufacturing them under their own roof. Polygon is one such brand. Owned by a company that manufactures bikes for some of the world's most recognisable brands, Polygon has the luxury of doing everything in house, from design to production, paint and assembly, there aren’t many brands controlling their process from beginning to end. The efficiencies achieved from doing everything in-house mean Polygon can ultimately bring a high performing, exceptional value product to market.

Precision machinery cranks out frames for multiple brands, including their very own Polygon brand.

Evo chose Polygon to fill a gap in our range, a gap for a brand that’s not necessarily well known around the world but has a solid foundation and quality product with exceptional value. No big, fancy race team to fund, no need for print ads in every magazine, no flash offices around the world to maintain - just solid bikes at an affordable price. Dealing with some of the world's leading brands is great, but we are then reliant on them for support and supply, we import Polygon ourselves, meaning we’re responsible for everything once a bike leaves the factory, including, of course, selling them. All this means we’re able to keep the prices affordable and offer the most cost-effective way to get on a full-suspension MTB in NZ!

Not many bike brands have their very own testing facility just out the back door!

What about the bikes?

Maybe you’re searching for your first full-suspension mountain bike, or you’re looking for a great value bike to upgrade your existing one, a Polygon mountain bike could be just the ticket for your offroad adventures. In NZ we keep the range simple, with three Siskiu platforms to choose from when it comes to full-suspension trail bikes.

Siskiu D Series:

‘D’ series bikes are aimed towards the Cross-country end of the MTB spectrum and feature 120mm rear travel with a 120mm travel fork. Sizes Small & Medium are offered with 27.5” wheels. Medium, Large, & XL available with 29” wheels, meaning you get the best wheel size for your height.

Siskiu T Series:

The ‘T’ Series is a great do-it-all bike with wheel size different depending on frame size as per the D series. This time though, the 27.5 models (Small & Medium) get a 140mm travel with a 150mm travel fork, and the 29” wheel bikes (medium, large, xl) get 135mm rear travel with a 140mm fork. These travel numbers, coupled with balanced geometry put the ‘T’ series right in the “do everything” category, enough travel to have some fun on the descents but not too much that it unnecessarily taxes you while climbing or on flat trails.

Siskiu N Series:

Things step up a notch when you with the ‘N’ series, we can only figure it’s N as in eNduro. Once again we see the wheel size specific to frame size, the 27.5 options get a whooping 170mm of travel front and rear. 29 inch wheeled sizes get a very capable 160mm of travel in the rear and a matching 160mm fork. If your riding is solidly focussed on descending and a climb is merely something to get to the top of on the way to your fun, then N series is for you!
