Extra travel, extra fun. From rowdy enduro runs to backcountry missions on steep, chunky singletrack, this new composite 29er builds on the Trance 29 platform with beefed up suspension and adjustable frame geometry.
This new member of the Trance family is designed with a longer travel suspension setup for added control on the most challenging trails. The full composite frame is engineered for 135mm of rear travel and 150mm up front. The Maestro rear suspension has a two-stage adjustable Advanced Forged Composite rocker arm with a trunnion-mount shock.
The flip-chip equipped rocker arm lets you adjust frame geometry for your own riding style and terrain. To fine-tune the ride, you can choose a steeper or slacker head tube angle (66.2 or 65.5 degrees) and seat tube angle (77.9 or 77.2 degrees), which results in either a 30mm or 40mm bottom bracket drop. And it’s all built around 29-inch wheels for added stability on rugged terrain.
KEY PERFORMANCE FACTORS
29er confidence and control
Optimised Maestro suspension for 29-inch wheels with 135mm rear/ 150mm front travel to roll over rough terrain with balance and stability, giving you more momentum for technical climbs and the confidence to fly on fast, rugged singletrack descents. Added clearance for up to 2.5-inch tires.
Full Composite Construction
Mainframe and rear swingarm are engineered with proprietary material featuring high-performance carbon fibre and resin. Handcrafted monocoque construction makes it lightweight, stiff and compliant.
Adjustable frame geometry
Flip chip adjustability lets you switch between two settings depending on the terrain you are riding. You can select either 66.2 or 65.5-degree head angle and 77.9 or 77.2-degree seat tube angle, resulting in either a 30mm or 40mm bottom bracket drop.
Overdrive
Designed to provide precise front-end steering performance, the system’s oversized headset bearings (1 1/2" lower and 1 1/8" upper) and tapered steerer tube work in conjunction to provide optimal steering stiffness.
Giant tubeless system
Integrated Tubeless WheelSystem and tyres deliver improved efficiency, comfort and control in the most user-friendly and reliable system.
Boost technology
Wider hub spacing (110mm front/148mm rear) results in stiffer wheels for added control plus more tyre clearance and an improved chainline for optimal drivetrain performance.
Integrated frame protection
Drive-side chainstay and downtube feature built-in protection against rocks and debris. A clear 3M protective strip on the underside of the headtube/downtube junction protects the frame when it’s loaded onto a shuttle vehicle.
Powercore
A massively oversized bottom bracket/chainstay area features a fully integrated, 92mm wide bottom-bracket design. Asymmetric chainstays provide additional stiffness on the driveside and stability on the non-driveside.
Megadrive
A massive rectangular downtube and oversized top tube work in unison to provide superior front-end lateral and torsional steering precision. The precisely engineered, rectangular-shaped downtube yields unprecedented steering and pedalling stiffness.
Trunnion mount
Integrated shock mount produces a lower leverage ratio for increased pedalling and braking efficiency, plus a lower centre of gravity and shorter chainstays for improved handling, climbing and agility.
Advanced forged composite
A state-of-the-art, high-pressure moulding process is used to produce a complex shaped carbon-fibre upper rocker arm that is lighter, stiffer and stronger than an aluminium version.
Maestro suspension technology
Four strategically positioned pivot points and two linkages work together to create a single floating pivot for the most active, efficient and independent suspension system.
