Featuring 2.3" knobbly mountain bike tyres and a Shimano 1 X 6 drivetrain, this bike is suitable for riding trails, street, your local pump track or even to school and back. The Skid features smaller contact points to suit smaller hands and shorter legs, and mechanical disc brakes ensure reliable powerful all-weather braking performance.
1×6-speed Shimano drivetrain
Skid 20 features a reliable, easy to use, Shimano Tourney 1x6-speed drivetrain. This means younger riders have plenty of gears for any terrain, up or down.
Easy-ride geometry
Skid is designed to be a stable bike for kids, inspiring their confidence and improving balance and riding skills.
Higher volume tyres
Skid is designed to easily fit higher volume 20" x 2.3" tyres with plenty of mud clearance. Bigger tyres can increase the contact area and thus ride comfort, control and grip.
Kickstand mount
There is an integrated kickstand mount. The addition of a kickstand is neat and uncomplicated.
Mechanical disc brakes
Skid comes with mechanical disc brakes. Disc brakes offer dependable all-weather performance over rim brakes, and the lever pull is light for young riders. The levers are reach-adjustable for smaller hands. Full-length cables keep brakes working better for longer, and maintenance easier.
Mechanically formed 6061 alloy frame
Skid features a brand new frame for young riders. Trickle-down technology means that the new frame benefits from Silverback's leading platforms. The frame tubes are mechanically formed into complex shapes to increase strength and stiffness, minimising weight and excess material use. Skid features a 1 1/8" headtube. Skid decals are applied under the clear coat for durability
Rack and fender mounts
The frame features mounting points for a rear fender and pannier racks.
Size-specific contact points
Skid is finished with a kid's specific saddle, smaller and narrower bars, smaller diameter grips, reach adjustable brakes and a shorter crankset with smaller pedals – all to suit smaller riders perfectly.
Super-low standover
Lower standover means that the Skid can be ridden by both male and female riders with more room for movement. This improves control and confidence on technical sections. It also allows for a longer dropper post to be used.
Suspension fork
Skid features a Zoom suspension fork for a more comfortable ride, taking the sting out of trails.
