Kona 6061 aluminium delivers reliable performance that lasts for thousands of rides
A 1x groupset allows you to drop the front derailleur and still have a full range of gears.
Hydraulic disc brakes give you more stopping power and better heat management.
100mm of front suspension soaks up big bumps and hits for a more stable and smoother ride.
A classic Kona hardtail in a 29" version, the Mahuna is ready to explore your favourite trails. Kona has updated the frame geometry to more progressive numbers, which makes for a more comfortable ride. Big wheels help you keep your momentum over challenging obstacles, while extra-grippy WTB tyres and 100mm of air-sprung RockShox front suspension inspire confidence when things get tricky.
The frame features internal dropper post routing, making an upgrade simple. When you’re ready to point it downhill, Shimano hydraulic disc brakes provide powerful stopping power.
Kona 6061 aluminium
Kona 6061 aluminium is a tough, durable, light alloy, delivering fantastic, reliable performance that lasts for thousands of rides. Much of the tubing is butted and/or formed, meaning the tubing’s wall thickness can be increased or decreased, as well as shaped, so that Kona can fine-tune a particular frame’s strength and ride characteristics depending on its intended application.
Internal headset
Bearing cups are pressed into the frame and are easily removable. An internal headset also reduces stack height, so the height of the stem and bars are more adjustable, giving the rider the best fit possible.
Tapered head tube
More girth at the bottom of the head tube better distributes shock force, prolonging the bearing life of the headset and eliminating brake shudder, while providing confident steering performance. The inherent strength of its triangular design also means a stronger steering position and improved balance, giving the rider more control in rough terrain. A zero-stack, tapered head tube also puts strength where the load is going – into the lower headset cup – maximising bearing durability where it’s needed.
Tubeless compatible rims
Tubeless rims allow for tyres with more puncture resistance and offer the ability to run lower tyre pressure, which provides better grip on the trail. They also lower rolling resistance and save weight over traditional tube and tyre systems.

Please note that our specifications may be impacted by manufacturer component substitution changes caused by high global demand for bikes and resulting supply chain issues in the bike industry. We recommend confirming the specifications with your local Evo Cycles showroom if you have any questions.
Bike Weight: Many brands strive to list the lowest possible weight, but in reality weight can vary based on frame size, finish, hardware and accessories. The most accurate way to determine any bike's weight is to have your local showroom weigh it for you.
